Haley Joel Osment, best known for his Oscar-nominated turn in the film The Sixth Sense, will be making his Broadway debut in the upcoming revival of David Mamet's American Buffalo. The production, directed by Robert Falls, will begin previews at the Belasco Theatre on October 31, with opening set for November 17.
Osment joins previously announced stars John Leguizamo and Cedric the Entertainer in the story of three small-time crooks that come to blows during a plot to steal a valuable coin collection.
Osment made his big screen debut at age six in the film Forrest Gump, playing title star Tom Hanks' son. Additional film and TV credits include The Larry Sanders Show, Bogus, The Jeff Foxworthy Show, Murphy Brown, Pay it Forward and Artificial Intelligence: AI.
The original production of American Buffalo premiered off-Broadway in 1976 and won the 1977 Drama Critics' Circle Award for Best American Play.
